Sometimes when we think of small towns, we think of open country filled with calmness, a bit of boredom and not much more. If you are relatively young, boredom might be the best and only way to describe it. Having the privilege of growing up in a small town before the age of 18, and moving to the city during my early 20’s, I’ve learned to appreciate the quiet and even the nothingness that comes over you when you’re city outside on that summer night with nothing planned for the night ahead. This is especially true on the weekends if you’re not the hardcore drinking type, which I definitely am not. I’ve thrown my fair share of shade at that small town feel, but honestly, I’ve learned to appreciate it and all its small glory. When I moved to a big city, I loved telling my friends that I was from Smallville, Kansas. I got a little upset when they didn’t get the reference.
It really amazes me how such a small gesture can change the outcome of your entire day. These days, everything is so fast paced. Everyone is in a hurry to get somewhere or has at least 100 things running through their mind all at once. This can make it seem like you’re closed off to the outside world. Not acknowledging anything or anyone as you scurry through all the people so you can get to your destination. Getting there is all that matters.
The little things in life turn out to be the most important. These little moments with remember will shape out the live with want to live. Today’s tip involves the people we love. Make sure you are doing your absolute best in spending time and having those special moments with family and friends. In the modern world, everyone is running around and super busy with their lives. We all have these complex lives full of our own accomplishments and pitfalls. We’re all trying our best to become someone and that takes a lot of time.
Pay attention to the little things. Make the little things important. It’s the little things that make up the big changes in your life. Because I’m just a guy that’s going through life, adding up these little nuggets to make, what I consider to be, a wonderful life. Now I’m definitely not referring to the movie, It’s a Wonderful Life. Don’t get me wrong, that movie had such a great ending, but the build up before that was too much. Dude went through some unexplainable tragedies that most people would never make it out of. Well I digress, but the important thing is that you’re out there trying to find these little nuggets to improve your life.
